Education is the driving force behind a better future, and access to it must be a priority for everyone. For this reason, Tanger Med Foundation places education at the heart of its initiatives. By doing so, it promotes access to quality education. Through the development of modern infrastructure and the fight against school dropout, Tanger Med Foundation not only values access to quality education, but also promotes excellence through numerous projects and particularly through its innovative institutions, such as the Lycée Méditerranéen (LYMED) and the 1337 MED Coding School. At the same time, it funds scholarships and merit awards, tutoring, and programs for young talent. .
The Lycée Méditerranéen aims to prepare high-potential Moroccan students for the highly selective entrance exams to Moroccan and French Grandes Écoles d’Ingénieurs. LYMED is fundamentally based on the values of excellence, ambition, belonging, and caring. All of its students are scholarship recipients and thus evolve in an inclusive environment of social diversity, conducive to compliance with diversity and the promotion of equal opportunities, in which only their efforts and merit count. It is thanks to these values and high-quality teaching that LYMED has earned its reputation for excellence, enabling successive cohorts of students to enter prestigious national and international universities.
The result of a partnership between Tanger Med Foundation, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), and École 42, the 1337 MED campus builds on the success of the Khouribga and Bengrir campuses. Located one hour from Tangier, this 2 000 m² campus offers training in IT development and coding, completely free of charge and open to all, with no diploma or prior knowledge required. The campus is accessible 24/7 and focuses on participatory and inclusive teaching methods.
Tanger Med Foundation has always been committed to promoting excellence among young people. The Tanger Med Grand Prize for Excellence is awarded each year to the most deserving students in schools under the four provincial directorates of the Regional Academy of Education and Training.
This annual fine arts competition, organized in partnership with the National Institute of Fine Arts of Tétouan (INBAT), aims to highlight and reward the Institute's most talented artists. This award has a dual purpose: to reward artists and also to help them promote their art nationally and internationally.
Since its creation, Tanger Med Foundation has supported the school transportation program in Fahs Anjra province. This is to prevent students from dropping out of school due to a lack of adequate transportation. This project is led by the provincial development company "TRANSCOLAIRE FAHS ANJRA" in partnership with public and private stakeholders in the region, as well as the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports.
Tanger Med Foundation provides functional and academic support to many youth centers, Dar Talib and Dar Talia, in the municipalities of Ksar Sghir, Melloussa, Taghramt, and Jouamâa. The centers have boarding facilities and learning spaces. These centers are very important in the region because they help combat school dropout rates and enable a large number of students to attend school close to home.
For several years, Tanger Med Foundation has been supporting the distribution of textbooks and school supplies. These actions aim to provide financial and material support to families in need and prevent school dropouts. These initiatives, carried out in collaboration with the Regional Education Delegations, are aimed at middle and high school students who are orphans or come from disadvantaged families.
